Subject to funding approval by the Federal Government of Canada under Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), CICS is recruiting candidates to fill the following summer employment position for Youth in Markham location:

Settlement Program Assistant

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Settlement team to facilitate online and in-person programs for newcomers, youths, women and seniors
• Support the Settlement team with data entry, compiling statistic reports, client surveys and preparing program materials
• Assist with outreach activities to promote programs and services
• Assist with front desk duties

Required Qualifications: Post-Secondary

Language required for the position: English and Farsi

Terms and Conditions:

• Salary: $15.00 per hour
• Hours of work: 35 hours per week
• No. of weeks: 8
• Anticipated Start Date: June 6

Applicant MUST meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations;
• International students are not eligible.
