Subject to funding approval by the Federal Government of Canada under Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), CICS is recruiting candidates to fill the following summer employment position in Scarborough location for Youth:
Language Training Program Marketing Assistant
Tasks and Responsibilities:
This position combines communications and administrative skills to support the activities for the new immigrants in language training program to become more familiar with the local community and its resources.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and organizing program functions and events for newcomer adult language learners in LINC classes, such as the year-end outings, educational visits and field trips
- Conduct community outreach and programs/services promotion including social media distribution
- Prepare promotional materials such as program flyers
- Experience with creating promotional videos (familiarity with videography and video editing)
- Assist with administrative duties
- Prepare and assist in summarizing data collected from student survey
- Assist with planning program events
Required Qualifications: Post-secondary
Language required for the position: English / Mandarin and/or Cantonese (Preferred but not mandatory)
Terms and Conditions:
- Salary: $15.00 per hour
- Hours of work: 35 hours per week
- No. of weeks: 10
- Anticipated Start Date: June 6, 2022

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations;
- International students are not eligible.
