Subject to funding approval by the Federal Government of Canada under Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), CICS is recruiting candidates to fill the following summer employment position for Youth in Scarborough location:
Employment Program Assistant
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assist in program administrative tasks, such as screening program eligibilities, conducing intake assessment, compiling data and generating reports
• Assist in program deliveries, such as planning, implementing educational and skills enhancement activities for Ontario Works clients and newcomer women
• Co-facilitate workshops and activities including computer training, workplace language training, etc.
• Provide and support program participants by sharing information on resources, services, volunteering, and employment opportunities in the community
• Facilitate access to appropriate services in the community where there are barriers due to language, culture and race
Required Qualifications: Post-Secondary
Language required for the position: English
Terms and Conditions:
• Salary: $15.00 per hour
• Hours of work: 30 hours per week
• No. of weeks: 9
• Anticipated Start Date: July 4, 2022
Applicant MUST meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations;
• International students are not eligible.
